Joe Belfiore clarifies: BitLocker issue fixed, only a small set of “internal testers” affected

Joe Belfiore has responded to complaints of some Lumia owners, who are still facing the issue due to BitLocker encryption on their devices. Windows Phone 8.1 developers preview running Lumia 1020, Lumia 1520 on AT&T and Lumia 920 on T-Mobile Germany started getting Lumia Cyan update OTA starting yesterday, but few users complained of running into BitLocker issue yet again.

But as can be seen in two tweets from Joe Belfiore, Microsoft may have fixed BitLocker issue for common developers preview running devices. Only those devices, which were updated for internal testing, by adopting other means to update are still running into issues.

On bitlocker issue: some people are reporting that the latest DP release still has bitlocker issue with Cyan. We think that’s incorrect…

..we think the only cases of this, still, are folks who updated via a NON-PUBLIC mechanism that we used for small-group & internal testing.
