Windows 10 Mobile Build 14267: First Impressions, Changes Demo & Installation experience

2

Microsoft yesterday pushed the first ever Windows 10 Mobile Redstone build, the Build 14267 to Windows Insiders on Fast Ring. You can read the official changelog and Known Issues and first devices to get it by following the links.

Now, time for  our hands-on first impressions and changes demo video on a latest Flagship Lumia 950 XL. We will also share the installation experience of the Build 14267.

Installation Experience:

The Installation experience has been smooth on our Lumia 950 XL and depending upon the network or WiFi conditions, it took around 35-40 minutes for the build to get downloaded. Installation and data migration takes  30-35 minutes more. You will be usually notified for a restart when the download has completed in background. In case you don’t see the Build available for you and you have any of the Lumia 550, 650, 950 and 950 XL, try re-enrolling to Fast ring by opening the Windows Insider app.

It is a full build however and may require up to 1.20 GB of free storage. So, check the storage before you upgrade and you can check our tutorial on how to prepare for upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile.

First Impressions & Official Changes demo:

During our brief hands-on time with the Build 14267, we didn’t encounter any freezes or crashes or any such issue. The build offered a smooth performance across the UI navigation and you can see that in the video too. There is a know issue with the Visual Voicemail but apart from that it has been working fine on Lumia 950 XL. Microsoft Edge is also working fine so far in spite of it coming with many changes. It is difficult to assume or tell anything about Battery Life at this point in time. We must mention that we haven’t done hard reset on our devices but we recommend if you are facing lots of issues. We will come back with more detailed review of this build once we have used it for few days.
