The Facebook-owned company was working to implement the Touch ID and Face ID feature for iOS and while it is yet to come to the public, WhatsApp team already started working to provide the same privilege to its Android users.

As spotted by WABetaInfo, the company is now working to add a new section for Authentication which will let users add their fingerprints under the Privacy settings in the app. The feature when ready for the public will be rolled out to users running Android Marshmallow or higher. Needless to say, you need a smartphone which has the fingerprint sensor so as to enjoy the feature.

This feature will be beneficial to every age group. Any form of biometric authentication helps in putting an extra layer of security which prevents other people to take advantage of your personal conversation. Will you take advantage of this new feature soon after its rollout? Let us know in the comments section below.
