WhatsApp support for Nokia S40, Symbian S60 Phones ends on June 30, 2017. BlackBerry OS & 10 will loose support too

All good things come to an end and WhatsApp support for Nokia S40 and Symbian S60 Phones is coming to an end on June 30, if WhatsApp doesn’t extend its support once again. The support for Nokia s40 and Symbian/S60 phones was earlier supposed to cease to exist by the end of 2016, but then WhatsApp had extended it to June 30, 2017.

In this article, you can find the list of Nokia-branded S40, Symbian and S60 devices impacted by this decision. Nokia has launched new feature phones like new Nokia 3310 (2017) that run on S30+ OS and don’t support WhatsApp. You can however go for a new Nokia Android Phone like Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 if you want to keep enjoying Nokia quality.

This is what WhatsApp FAQ about support for older operating systems reads. Even, BlackBerry & BlackBerry 10 operating systems will loose support on June 30, 2017.

The following platforms are no longer supported as of the beginning of 2017:

  • Android versions older than 2.3.3
  • Windows Phone 7
  • iPhone 3GS/iOS 6

On June 30, 2017, we will no longer support the following platforms:

  • BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10
  • Nokia S40
  • Nokia Symbian S60
