Qualcomm has confirmed in its press release that HMD Global (Nokia Mobile) is one of the OEMs expected to announce 5G smartphones powered by Snapdragon 690. The press release also confirms that these first 5G smartphones may be launched in the second half of 2020.

HMD Global, LG Electronics, Motorola, SHARP, TCL, and Wingtech are among the OEMs/ODMs expected to announce smartphones powered by Snapdragon 690.

Devices based on Snapdragon 690 are expected to be commercially available in the second half of 2020. With the new addition of Snapdragon 690, there will be more than 1,800 devices either announced and in development in the 6-series.

We reported about teasers from HMD CPO first hinting at a 5G Nokia smartphones based on Snapdragon 690 and then about display refresh rate of 90 GHz/120 GHz.
