You may have heard about Sebastian Nystrom, the head of product business at Nokia Technologies, who confirmed that Nokia is hiring for new product businesses. Now, Sebastian and his team will be at Slush 14, the mega event of start-ups and he is listed as a speaker on Slush site. Sebastian has also confirmed that he will be speaking on Monday, the 17th.

 

 

Does the November 17 date ring some bells?? Yes, this is the date when more information is supposed to be revealed about how “Nokia story continues”. So, this is not mere coincidence, that on 17th November, the head of product business, Nokia Technologies is attending the mega event of start-ups.

 

Do we expect some announcements from Nokia about some new software / hardware products?? Yes, we do and if not new products then may be bit more clarity about the future road-map of Nokia product business.

 

And, just for your info, Sebastian was once head of Meego development, Senior Vice President of product development in Mobile Phones and most recently senior VP of strategy at Nokia before the D&S business was sold to Microsoft.

 

Prior to this role Sebastian has held various executive product and strategy positions in Nokia. Most recently he was Senior Vice President of Strategy at Nokia. In this role he led the strategy development for group and business unit level strategies across Nokia until the devices business was divested. He has also held positions such as Senior Vice President of product development in Mobile Phones, Vice President and Head of the MeeGo Program, and Vice President of Services and Application platforms. In these roles Sebastian has had the responsibility of developing devices and delivering software to over 200 million consumers.
