Nokia to release 10” Windows Tablet running on qualcomm dual-core chipset in Q4.

This time it is from digitimes and according to sources at upstream component suppliers, “Nokia will team up with Microsoft to venture into the tablet PC market by releasing a 10-inch, Windows 8-based tablet PC set on Qualcomm’s dual-core platform in the fourth quarter of 2012 at the earliest”.

Digitimes further confirm that first batch of these tabs will come from Compal and number of shipments will be around 200,000.

Well, this doesn’t sound like a baseless rumor because,

  • Digitimes has got reputation of a dependable source.
  • Apollo will be available then in all its might and glory. Read our earlier article about what all awesome features will come packed with Windows 8/Apollo.
  • So in all possibility Nokia Tab, Prodigy, and Ac/Dc are set to be launched at Nokia world 2012 in Helsinki, the homeland :).
  • Release will take place as early as possible in Q4 after the launch at Nokia world in Sep 2012.
