Nokia signs royalty-bearing patent licensing deal with Daimler

Nokia has signed a new royalty-bearing patent licensing agreement with automotive giant Daimler. Announcing the agreement Nokia revealed that it would license mobile telecommunications technology to Daimler and both the companies agreed to settle all litigations between them. Under the agreement, Daimler will make payments to Nokia.

As expected Nokia has not disclosed the revenue expected from this deal. The press release just mentions, “Under the agreement, Nokia licenses mobile telecommunications technology to Daimler and receives payment in return.”. Read the full press release below.

Espoo, Finland – Daimler and Nokia sign patent licensing agreement

Daimler and Nokia announced today that they have signed a patent licensing agreement. Under the agreement, Nokia licenses mobile telecommunications technology to Daimler and receives payment in return. The parties have agreed to settle all pending litigation between Daimler and Nokia, including the complaint by Daimler against Nokia to the European Commission. The terms of the agreement remain confidential as agreed between the parties.
