Nokia CEO Rajeev Suri was invited on December 8 to ring the NYSE closing bell in celebration of Nokia’s 150 year anniversary.

On Tuesday, December 8, I had the opportunity to spend the afternoon in New York as a guest of the New York Stock Exchange. I was invited, along with several of my colleagues, to ring the closing bell in celebration of Nokia’s 150 year anniversary. What a privilege! And what an amazing experience to stand on the famous podium and look over the trading floor.

The closing bell signals the end of another busy trading session, and I think of how it also symbolizes the end of one chapter for Nokia… and the start of another.

Nokia CEO reiterated his resolve to make Nokia a leader in next generation technology, innovation and services for a programmable world.

Tuesday’s ceremony at the NYSE was a very memorable and historic occasion. I was proud to stand alongside my colleagues, representing Nokia and its remarkable history. And, what better way to close an extraordinary year? With a new year only weeks away, I look forward to Nokia’s next chapter – creating a leader in next generation technology, innovation and services for a programmable world.

You can watch him ringing the bell in video below.
