HMD has been living very well to its promise of monthly security updates for its Nokia Android smartphones. It has now released Android July 2017 Security update to Nokia 6 TA-1003 version in Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Interestingly Nokia 6 seems to be the first Android smartphone to have received the July security patch for Android. Google has not pushed July Security patch to even its pixel devices and has not even posted the  security Bulletin for July security update.

Our sources told us that June and July security updates for Nokia 6 China version is coming soon too. As you can see in the screenshot above the update is 149 MB in size.

Nokia 6 has been made available in only three markets: China, Taiwan and Hong Kong as of now. And it has been receiving updates; both OS updates as well as Security updates since its launch.

We last reported about Nokia 6 receiving June security update in Taiwan and Hong Kong. Nokia 6 was launched with Android 7.0 and subsequently updated to Android 7.1.1 along with its April Security update in China. Nokia 6 in Taiwan and Hong Kong upgraded to Android 7.1.1 with May security update.

HMD has also made it clear that all Nokia Android Phones will receive minimum two years of OS update support. HMD confirmed Android O roll-out to Nokia 3, 5 and 6 when it is released by Google in a statement given to us. Android P the successor to Android O is confirmed too because of the promise of 2-years of update support.
