Nokia 6 2018 gets Dual-VoLTE & May security update with receiving new Oreo Build. List of markets

This sounds like great news for Nokia 6 2018 owners in India and in other markets. Nokia 6 2018 has started receiving a new Oreo 8.1 Build V2.22A that also brings the May security update along with itself. It also brings Dual-VoLTE support though it is not mentioned in the changelog. For all software update news related to other Nokia smartphones click here.

The changelog mentions,

  • User interface enhancements
  • Improved system stability
  • OS upgrade Build V2.22A

Dual-VoLTE support is not mentioned in the changelog, but we checked and it does bring the Dual-VoLTE support that enables two 4G networks to be accessed simultaneously on the Dual-SIM Nokia 6 2018.

While it doesn’t also mention the May Security update it brings May security patch too. It brings fix for a critical security vulnerability in Media framework that could enable a remote attacker using a specially crafted file to execute arbitrary code within the context of a privileged process. Read the complete details of May Security update here.

You will either be prompted to download this update or you can check by going to Settings and searching system updates and then by checking for the update. The Nokia 6 2018 security update is around 460.4 MB in size and you need to be on WiFi to download and install it.

HMD has been quite consistent in terms of releasing Monthly Security updates and OS updates for Nokia smartphones already available in the market. HMD has also made it clear that all Nokia Android Phones will receive minimum two years of OS update support.
