In a recent interview to Financial Review (Australia), Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has reiterated Microsoft’s focus to find that “most ultimate mobile device”. Microsoft, as per Nadella will not play in the market defined by major Smartphone leaders.

“We will continue to be in the phone market not as defined by today’s market leaders, but by what it is that we can uniquely do in what is the most ultimate mobile device,” he said.

This is not the first time however that Nadella has talked about bringing something category-defining to the table, when it comes to Phones based on Windows 10 Mobile. In a previous Interview he talked about creating Phone Categories with “some new form, new function, new value added”. We also reported about Terry Myerson talking about Windows 10 Mobile Devices with ARM chips and cellular connectivity.

He referred HP Elite X3 as one of the examples of structural innovation pursued by Microsoft.

Referring to HP’s Elite X3 device, which is part smartphone and part mini Windows PC, Mr Nadella said Microsoft was already present in “structural innovation” in the phone arena, and was focusing on productivity, management and security in mobile.

“We don’t want to be driven by just envy of what others have, the question is, what can we bring? That’s where I look at any device form factor or any technology, even AI,” he said.

We have reported via our sources that Surface Phone may not be just another phone but a 3-in-1 form factor device in itself. We recently reported that Microsoft may be have finally found a way to make X86 apps to run on ARM64 Windows 10 Mobile devices.

We have reasons to believe that upcoming Snapdragon 830 / 835 processor will have  capability to support such level of virtualization. Windows 10 Mobile Redstone 3 will not only bring 64-Bit architecture for Windows 10 Mobile, but will also enable X86-on-ARM64 -Emulator.
