We reported that Windows Phone 8.1 GDR1 is already with manufacturers now and is getting tested. There is not much known about changes and features of Windows Phone 8.1 GDR1, the next Windows Phone 8.1 iteration brings with itself. We could confirm native folder creation and VoLTE support from our sources. But, the above screenshot reveals more.
1) Support for 1280 x 800 resolution
2) Support for Network Time protocol
3) A phonebook entry for Cortana can be created to enable integration with Car’s navigation system
4) Dual-Sim capability with both GSM + CDMA network support
We have seen couple of GDR1 versions appearing online and the update may be released as developers preview in August to participating devices. Some devices running Windows Phone 8.1 GDR1 natively may be due for launch in late August to September time-frame and these may include upcoming Lumia devices too. Sometime back we reported that the ability to create start screen folders natively is coming to Windows Phone 8.1 soon.
