Nokia has a legendary recognition for its name across the globe. Much of this recognition comes from Nokia’s towering contributions towards the creation of Mobile telephony and later smartphone segments as we already know.

But there is also an inspirational story about Nokia’s rise from a manufacturer of Rubber boots to the Nokia that we know now. This amazing origin story of Nokia has been told in a web series named “Mobile 101” by Finnish director Maarit Lalli.

Mobile 101 first season will be a six-part series that will be premiered soon it seems across Nordics. The second season is already planned and will focus on Nokia facing off their American rivals started shooting in April.

The first season of “Mobile 101” is set in the late 1980s. It shows how the company transformed Finland into a high-tech society. Nokia saved the Finland’s economy by creating thousands of jobs. The timing of Nokia’s rise coincided with the collapse of the Soviet Union, so the impact was even more powerful.

This made Nokia top executives Finnish “heroes” because they “brought so much new capital” into Finland. Nokia’s rise raised Finland’s international profile during the early 1990s.

Thanks Manekaria for the tip. Cheers!!
