Announcing the sale of Nokia-branded Feature phones business to FIH Mobile Ltd., a subsidiary of Foxconn, and HMD Global, Oy, the sole global partner for upcoming Nokia Android Phones and Tablets, Microsoft has also talked about its own Mobile devices future to calm some nerves. As per the press release from Microsoft,

Microsoft will continue to develop Windows 10 Mobile and support Lumia phones such as the Lumia 650, Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, and phones from OEM partners like Acer, Alcatel, HP, Trinity and VAIO.

So, while it seems Microsoft will keep developing Windows 10 Mobile, the statement about just “support Lumia phones” mayn’t be enough to console Lumia fans, who want to know whether Microsoft will keep Lumia brand alive or kill it in favor of its upcoming “Surface Phone” range.

There have been many rumors suggesting Lumia brand is being killed with Lumia 650 as the last device ever, while we reported a new mid-ranger getting tested in India. With Surface Phone set to arrive only in March-April 2017, Microsoft may make a wise move to bring one or to more Lumias on the table.
