Instagram for Android updated with some minor changes

Instagram, one of the most widely used social media App globally is now getting a new update. The latest update to Instagram app is added to Android platform.

The update to Instagram for Android is live in the Google Play Store with app version 60.1.0.17.79. The update date mentioned in Play Store listing is 28th August. The update weighs around 34.3MB in this version.

Speaking of the changes it brings, the update comes with some safety features to Instagram. A new verification form is available in the Instagram app after this update. This can be accessed via the settings menu in profile section. Other new addition is support for 3rd party authentication apps.

  • Verification Form: Today, we are enabling a new way for accounts that reach large audiences and meet our criteria to request verification. This new form can be accessed via the settings menu on Profile.

     

  • Third-Party Authenticator Apps: You will soon be able to use third-party authenticator apps to log into your Instagram account. This update will be available globally in the coming weeks via the settings menu on Profile.
