Google Photos, the default photos app on Nokia smartphones gets an interesting new feature. An update that Google has started rolling out starting this month brings the OCR feature to Google Photos.

You can now not only search photos in the gallery by text in them, but can also copy and paste the in-image text. This was confirmed by the Google Photos official Twitter account.

In case you want to use the copy/paste feature all you need to do is to follow the below steps.

  1. Select an image in Google Photos, then go to Lens by tapping on the Lens icon at the bottom
  2. Now select text in the image by tapping and selecting it
  3. Copy the text and paste it anywhere you like to use it.
