Google brings “Safe Folder” option to “Files” on Android

Google has started to roll out a new feature called “Safe Folder” to its official Android file manger “Files”. The Safe Folder feature, as the name suggests allows to hide or safekeep confidential documents, pictures, audio or video files under a PIN protection.

You can access Safe Folder feature by going to Settings–>Browse–>Safe folder. You need to set a PIN before starting to use this folder. After setting the PIN you will see Safe folder on the browse tab of Files.

If you want to move any documents, pictures, audio or video file to Safe folder you can just browse to that file and select it. Once done access the top menu and it will have move to Safe Folder option.

If you move any file to Safe folder you can access it only by entering the PIN. If you forget the PIN it is not possible to access the Safe folder and its contents anymore.
