Microsoft pushed first Windows 10 Mobile Redstone 2 Build 14905 to Fast ring yesterday. The Build brings new notifications sounds / ringtones and other changes and improvements. You can read the full changelog by clicking here.
Now some users are facing issues while updating apps on their devices post installation of Build 14905. We checked and found the same issue with “error code 0x80073cf9” on our devices too. While a quick-search of the error code leads to many reasons and solutions to this issues, most of them are related to Windows 10 PC version.
What fixes the issue temporarily is changing Storage settings for app installation from SD Card to Device.
Steps:
- Go to Settings–>System–>Storage or go to Storage in Apps list
- Now you can change the “new apps will save to” Device and apply.
- It should fix the issue temporarily and apps will start updating
