Build 14342 unreported changes: New Notifications UI & Settings Icons, high HTML5 score

0

Windows 10 Mobile Redstone Build 14342 brings some changes, new features, lots of fixes and improvements but like always there are some changes which were not covered in the official changelog. After playing with Build 14342 we were able to find some interesting and rather significant changes. If you check the image above you can see the before-after comparison between how the notifications have a changed appearance in Build 14342 as compared to the last build.

You can watch all these unreported changes in action in our Build 14342 hands-on video demo.

And we can add Microsoft Edge’s impressive new HTML5 test score too in the list of unreported changes. Latest Microsoft Edge 14 on Build 14343 scores a high of 463 as compared to Edge 13’s score of 442 on Build 10586.318.

Thanks Rahul for the tip. Cheers!!

Device On the left is running Build 14332 and to the right you can see the device running latest Build 14342. You can notice,

  • Notifications wear a revamped new look and more in line with Dark Theme of Windows 10 Mobile.
  • Icons of the apps like WhatsApp and Twitter have changed and now look even better
  • The notifications time has moved from right to below the notifications
  • Notifications can be expanded to reveal even more information

As leaked earlier there are many changed icons for Settings and Sub-settings. As you can see in the image above even Windows Insider Ring Selector has got a new icon in Build 14342. Device Encryption has moved under “Update & Security” in one more unreported change. You can similarly notice many more settings and sub-settings icon changes.
