BMW logoBMW is planning to buy 57,000 Lumia devices for its employees starting next year. Currently its workforce uses Symbian smartphones. Majority of these new handsets will be Lumia 630, while the executives are supposed to get Lumia 920 and Lumia 930.

This is certainly good news and shows, how Nokia’s old roots are still helping Lumia get more foothold in enterprise sector. While, Windows Phone is certainly one of the better smartphone platforms, when it comes to productivity and integrated enterprise support, it has still not emerged as the big contender for corporate smartphone pie. May be, more work by Microsoft is required and more such kind of wins are needed.
