A new Nokia smartphone Nokia 8.1 has just appeared in the Google’s ARCore supported devices list. The smartphone is not a flagship smartphone as it is powered by Snapdragon 710, reveals a Geekbench listing. The listing also reveals that it packs 4GB RAM and runs the latest Android Pie OS version.

This begs the question of whether HMD will launch Nokia X7 as Nokia 8.1 globally. Usually a smartphone with as big display as Nokia X7 should have a “Plus” moniker if it is ever launched in other markets.

So, going by that logic we may be looking at a brand new smartphone with a smaller display size (around 5.9-inch) and sporting similar camera and processor as of Nokia X7. This may follow the example of Nokia 7.1 that is very similar to Nokia 6.1 Plus in many aspects but packs some better features too.

Four new smartphones TA-1131(Nokia X7), TA-1117(Nokia 3.1 Plus), TA-1132 and TA-1146 were recently seen in the Chinese ministry database. So, we still have at least two new Nokia smartphones to be launched in China and elsewhere. You can read our Nokia X7 and Nokia 9 coverage by clicking here.
