Great news!! Lumia 920 is shipping to India with Factory installed PR1.1 aka Portico Firmware. Above is the picture of a Black Lumia 920 demo model in one of the stores of major retailer “UniverCell”. It has OS version 8.0.10211.204 and the Firmware 1232.5951.1249.1001, which has been released for AT&T Lumia 920 variant and is available at NaviFirm for global Lumia 920 variants without PR1.1. Coming to availability and demand for Lumia 920 in India, major retailers like “UniverCell” and “Sangeetha” got Lumia 920 and 820 in stock other than Nokia Priority stores. They confirm that both Lumia 920 and 820 are getting really excellent traction and UniverCell store manager told us that it is outselling all other flagship smartphones and was of the opinion that after introduction of Asha range, Nokia phones have seen good demand. While Sangeetha store was sold out of both Lumia 920 and 820 and they told us that Lumia 820 was sold out even before Lumia 920. In fact, we saw many interested people gathered around the Lumia 920 and 820 during our one of the store visits.
Bad effect of this huge interest in Lumia 920 is that, there is hardly any discount being offered on Lumia 920 in stores and there are no “Free Wireless Charging plate” kind of offer anywhere, which is really sad considering in India one has to pay full unlocked price.
We can just hope that Nokia at least brings “free Wireless charging plate” offer to India as well.

i see this phone has huge potential.. but there is hardly any marketing done by Nokia India..
its hard to find a red lumia 920 in half of bangalore.. each vendor says please check in other shop.. when i asked Sangeeta employees to show how video/pic captured in lumia 920 is better than S3(my frnd had),, they were least bothered to help..
more interestingly.. most of the Nokia priority showrooms listed are turned to Samsung showrooms or all phone show rooms.. you hardly find a Nokia prio shop in bangalore..
waiting for yellow lumia 920 to be available in show rooms..

Hope Nokia’s doing great sales in India
I went to a Nokia priority today in Delhi and was able to get a hands on lumia 920. Its was awesome and found a feature that a representative their showed me. He stuck his first two finger together and double tapped with both fingers on the screen and the whole UI got magnified. I have never seen any review video showing this b4.
