Seriously, we didn’t bother to cover such lame rumor. How come a “Linux” job posting indicate Nokia pursuing Android, when Nokia already had many Linux people working on many of the related projects and there still may be a small team looking into future opportunities with Linux. Many of the tech sites reported this with much more spice than needed (As if Nokia’s Android Phone is almost here) and we can see how Nokia’s hardware is dream of many of the droid fans !!
But now Nokia has decided to officially put an end to these baseless rumors. “Doug Dawson”, Media relations head for Nokia has posted on his “Twitter account” that
“Our recently posted job is linked to our HERE Maps support for other platforms, including iOS and Android.”
That very much should shut many mouths
.
But frankly speaking, if Microsoft can make “Surface Phone” why shouldn’t Nokia be considering “Android” or any other platform as they say, “it is never wise to put all your eggs in a single basket”
.

Putting Android on a Lumia would be like smearing sh*t on an Armani suit

You really picked up on the fact that Nokia is their dream hardware also. Its amazing that they won’t admit it.

Mad tech blogs. Well, we all know that Android fans have always dreamed of Nokia Hardware as they are frustrated with crap sammy products which break with a little fall from 2-feet.. I’m in favor of Nokia going for some open-source stuff too. But please no Android or Tizen.. SailFish better than those or even better a fresh new OS beginning from Nokia
If Nokia were to consider another platform you would think it would be Sailfish.
It would be better for them to use Sailfish… i don’t want to see a Android OS on Nokia phone.. Nokia is a premium quality product.. Android would ruin it.
